MADRID, 7 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have assured this Wednesday that they have shot down more than a dozen Iranian-made drones used by Russia in the framework of its offensive, unleashed on February 24 by the invasion order given by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"During the night of December 6-7, 2022, after a three-week pause, the Russian occupying forces again attacked Ukraine with 'Shahed' kamikaze drones," the Ukrainian Air Force said through its Telegram account. "A total of fourteen devices were detected, arriving approximately in a southeasterly direction," he detailed.

Thus, it has indicated that "the air defense units of the Eastern Command destroyed eleven 'Shahed' and another three drones in an eastern direction were shot down by the air defense of the Ground Forces", before adding that "an 'Orlan-10 drone ' and two other enemy drones of a type to be specified."

Likewise, it has stressed that "during the last day, the Defense Forces aviation has carried out 22 bombardments against areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as four bombardments against positions of the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems ".

For his part, the governor of the Zaporizhia region, Oleksander Staruj, has denounced that three people, including a teenager, have been injured in recent hours in Russian attacks with missiles and drones. "The enemy has attacked two communities in the Zaporizhia district with drones and 'S-300' missiles," he said.

"In one of the villages, two houses have been destroyed and another eight have suffered damage," he pointed out, before adding that in the second "one house has been destroyed and ten have been injured." "There could have been many more casualties and destruction if the Defense Forces had not shot down half a dozen drones," she concluded.
