Only 6,146 coins were made. The denomination was not struck after the initial production. It was only in 1804, when the Heraldic Eagle reverse was added.

Aug. 17: Stack's Bowers sold several, including one graded about uncirculated details, altered surfaces by Professional Coin Grading Service. This surface was smooth, but not too smooth, and earned the PCGS designation. It was sold for $33,600.

This example was more affordable and had Very Good Details, Recto Scratched. As Numismatic Guaranty Company graded it, Stack's Bowers wrote that "a handsome piece with pleasingly original surface toned in blended beve-gray or medium gray." Blush with slightly darker color than the lower left reverse. But, more important is a long vertical scratch that almost bisects that side of the coin. This explains the NGC qualifier." The piece sold for $9,000.
