STSA has inaugurated this Friday its new aircraft sealing and painting hangar, which is located in the Airbus Military factory at the San Pablo airport and which has received an investment of 18 million euros and a grant of 2.4 million of the Agency for Innovation and Development of Andalusia (IDEA), dependent on the Ministry of Economy, Innovation and Business.

The opening ceremony was attended by the president of the STTS group -- STSA parent company --, Christophe Cador; the CEO of STSA, Julio Casas; the Director of Operations of Airbus Military, Alberto Gutiérrez; or the general director of IDEA, Antonio Valverde, who has highlighted the importance of this sector, "with which the Junta de Andalucía is involved, and which has already created 1,000 jobs, many of them qualified".

Likewise, the general director of STSA, Antonio Mena, has explained that in these facilities will be carried out, among other works for private and public companies in the sector, the painting and sealing of the A400M military program aircraft, coming from the supply chain. Final assembly of the Airbus factory in Seville. Thus, he indicates that each of these military transport devices entails eight days of work in the paint hangar, at a rate of 28 per year.

The president of the STTS group, Christophe Cador, has underlined the importance of the Seville hangar for the group's work; while the CEO of STSA, Julio Casas, highlights the possibilities of increasing work in the hangar, "which confirms Seville as a point of reference in the sector".

For his part, the Director of Operations of Airbus Military, Alberto Gutiérrez, has insisted on "the destination unity of both companies" and has valued the development of this project in the province.

According to the company, the STSA hangar in Seville is one of the most modern facilities of its kind in the world, with a volume of 60,000 cubic meters and more than 3,600 square meters of work surface. 15 companies have participated in its construction and it has a brightness of more than 700 lux and an air renewal six times an hour, that is, 360,000 cubic meters an hour.

The facilities have the latest technology in the sector in air conditioning systems, lighting, telescopic platforms for remote-controlled or manual use, a semi-buried platform "unique in the world for the fuselage" and environmental measures, among others.

The company STSA --Spanish subsidiary of the multinational STTS-- began its activities in 2004 and has three plants, two in Seville and one in Getafe, with a total of about 140 workers. Since its foundation, STSA's turnover has gone from one million euros in 2004 to 12 million last year, with forecasts of achieving a "big increase" in the coming years.
