UK starts training program for inexperienced Ukrainian soldiers

MADRID, 2 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The British authorities have launched on Monday a training program for inexperienced Ukrainian soldiers that will last five weeks in the middle of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

"The program for Ukrainian recruits, which takes place on British soil, will provide soldiers with combat skills to survive and be effective on the front lines," the Ukrainian Armed Forces have indicated in a message through their page From Facebook.

The Ukrainian forces have explained that this will allow the recruits to "defend their homeland from Russian aggression" since the training provides that inexperienced soldiers can test what they have learned in these weeks.

Britain has provided Ukraine with £2.3 billion in military aid, including anti-tank missiles, missile launchers, armed vehicles, artillery, ammunition, explosives and weapons, among others.

In total, the British Army has trained some 22,000 Ukrainian military personnel since 2015, a year after Russia annexed the Crimean peninsula.
