The Brazilian TSE includes the draft coup d'état in an investigation against Bolsonaro

MADRID, 17 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Brazil's Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) has included the draft coup that Brazilian authorities found at the home of former Justice and National Security Minister Anderson Torres in an investigation into former President Jair Bolsonaro's campaign for re-election.

Judge Benedito Gonçalves has decided this Monday to include the draft decree document in Bolsonaro's file, who has been given three days to rule on the content of the document.

The magistrate has also decided to summon Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes to share the evidence collected regarding the investigation into the assault on democratic institutions among the different institutions.

For Gonçalves, there is an "unequivocal correlation" between the attacks on the electronic ballot boxes - since the Liberal Party requested the annulment of the votes cast through them, alleging a malfunction - and the documents seized in the raid on the house of Torres.

In this sense, the inclusion of the draft of the decree serves to "densify the arguments that show the occurrence of abuses of political power tending to discredit the electoral justice system and the electoral process, with a view to altering the result of the election," it has reported. the newspaper 'O Globo'.

Currently, there are a total of 16 open investigations against Bolsonaro that could set aside his candidacy for the elections of the next eight years, according to the aforementioned newspaper.
