The court confirms the psychiatric internment of the mother, who was acquitted for suffering from mental illness

MADRID, 23 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Supreme Court has confirmed the sentence for Godella's crime. Thus, it has ratified the sentence of 50 years in prison that was imposed on the man for murdering his two children and has endorsed the psychiatric internment of the mother of the minors who, despite being a co-author of the two crimes, has been acquitted by a Mental illness.

In a sentence, collected by Europa Press, the magistrates have dismissed all the reasons presented by the convicted persons against the sentence of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community by which the decision was confirmed by a jury of the Provincial Court of Valencia .

According to the proven facts, the two condemned men, "driven by their mystical-religious beliefs", decided that "the only way to protect their children from the siege to which they were subjected was, after giving them a purifying bath of their souls, to end with their lives and send them to the afterlife so they could revive".

In this way, acting by mutual agreement in execution of said plan, doing and letting each other do, they took their children --one 3 years old and the other 6 months-- and after bathing them in the pool of the house of camp, where they lived illegally, they were beaten many times that caused their death.
