Criticizes that Feijóo's party does "unprecedented institutional damage" with its "democratic obstructionism"

MADRID, 11 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, has assured this Friday that the PP does not have "sufficient democratic legitimacy" to accuse the Government of being a traitor for the elimination of the crime of sedition, which will be called "aggravated public disorder" and will reduce the sentences of prison from 15 to 5 years and disqualification from 15 to 8.

"For me, the PP does not have sufficient democratic legitimacy to make those accusations contrary to the legitimate government of Spain, which is the Government of Pedro Sánchez," Llop emphasized in statements to the media when asked about the criticism of the parties of the opposition after announcing the PSOE and United We Can proposal to reform the Criminal Code and repeal the crime of sedition.

The head of Justice has argued that since Alberto Núñez Feijóo's PP, as "previously" with "Mr. Casado", has "blocked" the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary, he is therefore not entitled to criticize the Government for the sedition.

For Llop, the PP is causing "unprecedented institutional damage" by establishing itself in an "attitude of democratic obstructionism" that "has forced" the resignation, "nothing more and nothing less", of Carlos Lesmes as president of the Supreme Court and of the CGPJ.

And when asked if this reform makes it difficult to renew the governing body of the judges, the minister has summoned the media to ask the PP that question, which "is the one who has blocked it."
