A Mercantile Court declares the bankruptcy of the Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard fortuitous and archives it

VIGO, 2 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Commercial Court number 3 of Pontevedra, based in Vigo, has issued an order in which it agrees to file the proceedings relating to the bankruptcy of the now-defunct Vigo shipyard Hijos de J. Barreras (whose facilities are now owned by the Armón group).

Thus, the magistrate complies with the provisions of the Bankruptcy Law, which establishes that, when the bankruptcy administrator and the Prosecutor's Office agree to point out a bankruptcy as fortuitous (without those responsible), the court must order the filing of the proceedings "without further formalities ", in a car against which there is no appeal.

The court declared the shipyard in voluntary bankruptcy in January 2022, given that the company was insolvent, and ordered the opening of a separate room for the sale of the production unit. Six months later, he declared the extinction of the company and, at the end of July, formalized the dismissal of a hundred workers, almost the entire workforce (with the exception of the twenty that were subrogated by the new owners, Armón).
