A company from Elche advances to put its satellite into orbit in 2024 aboard a German launcher

ALICANTE, 11 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The EMXYS company, located in Elche (Alicante), continues to advance to put its own satellite, called Odaliss, into orbit aboard the German Spectrum launcher. The satellite is scheduled to launch in 2024 and the mission will serve to demonstrate its functionality.

Representatives of EMXYS, a company that designs, develops and manufactures satellites based on its proprietary Odaliss platform, have attended the CSTS Customer Day organized by Isar Aerospace to visit its production facilities in Ottobrunn (Germany), as reported by the company in a statement.

In Germany, EMXYS has been able to learn first-hand about the technological capabilities of Isar Aerospace --a company that builds space launchers to transport satellites-- and has observed the state of development of the Spectrum launcher, which will put the first mission of the Odaliss platform into orbit. --called OTD-1 (ODALISS Technology Demonstrator 1)--.

This mission to launch the satellite, which is expected to take place in 2024, will be carried out on board the second Spectrum flight, launched from the Andoya Spaceport (Norway). This will serve to demonstrate the functionality of the satellite platform designed entirely by EMXYS, as well as the operation of the laser link to communicate the satellite with the ground station.

The CTO of EMXYS, Francisco García de Quirós, has highlighted that, during the visit, they have seen the facilities of Isar Aerospace and its engineering capabilities. "Without a doubt, we are in the best hands for our in-orbit demonstration mission of the Odaliss satellite," he emphasized.
