Trump hints at having made the decision to run in the 2024 presidential election

MADRID, 15 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The former president of the United States Donald Trump has hinted this Thursday that he would have decided to run again for the presidential elections in 2024 and that he would only be thinking about the best time to launch his campaign.

This is how Trump has expressed it in an interview with 'New York Magazine', in which he has detailed that he has already made "that decision", and that the only question to answer will be when he will announce it.

"I would say that my big decision will be if I go before or after (...) Do I go before or after? That will be my big decision," said the former president, referring to the mid-term elections of November 2022 in statements collected by the quoted medium.

Likewise, Trump has assured that he is confident that, if he decides to run as a candidate for the 2024 elections, he will win them.

The statements of the former president of the United States confirm what members of Trump's inner circle had previously confessed in private to various media outlets, stating that he had already decided to run again as a presidential candidate, as reported by CNN.

The current vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris, indicated at the end of June that Joe Biden "intends to run" in the next elections in the country.

"The president intends to run and if he does, I will be his partner. We would run together," Harris said June 29 as she prepared to leave for California aboard Air Force Two.

Biden, for his part, assured in March that he would feel "very lucky" to face the previous White House tenant, Donald Trump, in the next elections, after the presidential elections of November 2020, which have caused the opening of a committee in the House of Representatives to find out his degree of guilt in the assault on the Capitol and the theories of electoral fraud.

In the hypothetical case that Biden and Trump ran for the 2024 elections, the former president would clearly prevail over the current president by 44 percent versus 39 percent of votes, according to a survey published by the University of Emerson College and collected by the newspaper 'The Hill'.
