Gamarra believes that it has been demonstrated that the PP was right in breaking off the CGPJ negotiation: we wanted to depoliticize and Sánchez the opposite

MADRID, 9 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, has confirmed this Friday that the PP will denounce before the European Union and the Constitutional Court the latest penal reforms promoted by the government parties, both the changes to facilitate "the assault" on the TC such as those carried out "at the dictation" of the Catalan independentistas to benefit those prosecuted and convicted of the illegal referendum of 2017.

In his opinion, these laws are not specific to legislators, but have turned Parliament into a "marketing" by way of "express processing" so that Pedro Sánchez sees his General Budgets approved and can continue in the Moncloa Palace .

"We are here, in the middle of a bridge, between polvorones and Christmas carols, seeing that Sánchez is capable of anything," he commented at a press conference in Congress. "They take the Spaniards for fools."

At a press conference in Congress, Gamarra reiterated that the suppression of the crime of sedition and the foreseeable reform of the crime of embezzlement seek to benefit those responsible for the illegal referendum of October 1, 2017. And that lowering the majorities in the CGPJ to forcing the renewal of the Constitutional Court intends to take command of the guarantee court incorporating the two government candidates: former minister Juan Carlos Campo and former Moncloa adviser Laura Díez

In his opinion, they are reforms to "deliver the Penal Code to those on whom they depend and take over the TC with those who have been ministers or advisers in Moncloa." "Decriminalize crimes against the constitutional order to benefit people with names and surnames. It is a copyright criminal law, reforms that are written by dictation - he has affirmed -. It is a clear fraud of law".

Gamarra believes that all these measures agree with the PP when the negotiation to renew the General Council of the Judiciary broke down because they sought to advance in the depoliticization of Justice and instead Pedro Sánchez "goes in the opposite direction."

"We are witnessing the materialization of the assault on the Rule of Law and the institutions of the State - he insists -. What lies behind it is the absence of limits on the part of Pedro Sánchez, he has none as long as he remains in power".

Faced with this situation, he wanted to make it clear that the PP is not going to "remain silent", that they will present the appropriate appeals before the TC, when the norm leaves the Cortes, and that they will denounce before the European Union "the taking of the institutions", in addition to committing to repeal all these reforms when they reach the Government.

Gamarra recalls that the European Union has already stopped the government's attempt to reduce the majorities necessary to elect the CGPJ and hopes that, by virtue of what is established in the Venice Convention, it will now stress that in Spain the rule of law and separation must be defended of powers.

Lastly, the leader of the PP has disdained the new crime of illicit enrichment that PSOE and Podemos are going to add to their penal reform, since she considers that this has already been punished since the anti-corruption laws of 2015 and because she believes that it is only a "curtain of smoke" and "an excuse" to try to cover the reduction of the embezzlement in favor of the independentistas.

"What the PSOE is doing is weakening the fight against corruption and is making those who broke the constitutional order in 2017 go unpunished -he has riveted-. Here they seek to benefit the partners of the Government and the rest are fireworks " .

In addition, he has complained that now they want to give the impression that it is only corruption when there is a personal benefit, but in his opinion it is also corruption to divert public funds for other purposes because it means politically benefiting from those resources.

As he explained, the PP will also present amendments to the proposed law of the PSOE and Unidad Podemos, but in his case they are aimed at maintaining the crime of sedition, classifying the illegal referendum and punishing those convicted of murder with permanent prison. hide the corpse
