The PP sees the document of the summit with Morocco "riddled with euphemisms" and without progress in the customs of Ceuta and Melilla

"Can't we Spaniards speak naturally about sovereignty over Ceuta and Melilla? Do we have to censor ourselves?" he asks.

MADRID, 3 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesman for the PP campaign committee, Borja Sémper, considers that the document on the High Level meeting between Spain and Morocco is "full of euphemisms" and without progress in relation to the customs of Ceuta and Melilla.

"The content of the agreement does not represent great advances or important innovations in fundamental matters such as the border crossing of the customs of Ceuta and Melilla," Sémper declared in an interview on TVE, which has been collected by Europa Press.

Sémper has affirmed that this document is "full of euphemisms" and the PP does not know "what it means". "Can't we Spaniards speak naturally about national sovereignty over Ceuta and Melilla? Do we have to censor ourselves? It's all a bit strange," he declared.

This has been pronounced one day after the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has indicated that Spain and Morocco have committed themselves within the framework of the new relationship that they have established to avoid anything that may offend the "spheres of sovereignty" of the other.

The PP campaign spokesman demands the Government to report to Parliament on the Moroccan summit and has added that foreign policy must be of the State and shared with transparency, since the opposite is showing "weakness", especially when its government partner does not attend the summit.

In his opinion, international politics does not have to be static, but the problem is that the change with Morocco was made through leaks, with a letter. "You have to let diplomacy work."

Given the fact that the president of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, will meet this Thursday with the coordinator of the electoral program of the PP, Iñigo de la Serna, after excusing his attendance in Morocco, Sémper has indicated that this meeting with the PP was scheduled for "many days" because this type of contact with civil society that is being held "is planned ahead of time".

Regarding the so-called 'only yes is yes' law, Sémper has assured that if the government reform "has legal rigor, it will have the support of the PP". In his opinion, this norm has become a sign of internal conflicts within the Government.

Sémper has affirmed that the entire Government is "jointly responsible for this botch" as the Council of Ministers is a collegiate body and has stressed that former Vice President Carmen Calvo warned of the deficiencies of the text.
