The PP regrets that Sánchez continues with "his agenda" to renew the TC without seeking agreements

MADRID, 1 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Deputy Secretary of Economy of the PP, Juan Bravo, considers that the Chief Executive, Pedro Sánchez, "has his agenda" to renew the Constitutional Court and "on that path he does not prioritize reaching an agreement" in the General Council of the Judiciary ( CGPJ). After recalling the judicial proposal presented by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, he stressed that "it does not seem that the Government wants to agree" with his party on the renewal of the governing body of the judges.

In this way he has responded to Pedro Sánchez, who has advanced from Albania that the Executive will appoint the two Constitutional magistrates that correspond to him in September, after the 'express' reform that was approved by the Cortes, and has shown " convinced" that the CGPJ "will comply with the law" and will also make its proposal to renew the part that touches it, two other names for the TC.

"Sánchez has his agenda and obviously his agenda is not to reach an agreement regarding the CGPJ," said the PP's Deputy Secretary of Economy, Juan Bravo, who recalled the "public" proposal to advance judicial independence by renewing the institutions than the leader of his party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

The 'popular' leader has pointed out that in this "path" the chief executive "does not prioritize" reaching an agreement in the CGPJ but "other issues that may be related to other reasons that he will know better than anyone."

When asked if he hopes that there can be an agreement in September to unblock the TC, Bravo has indicated that this renewal of the governing body of the judges could have been carried out in June, which was when Feijóo put a proposal on top with measures to "give response to the situation" with "more independence", in line with "what the judges and magistrates were asking for".

"The answer they already know what it is and it does not seem that the Government wants to agree", has indicated the head of Economy of the PP, who has recalled the different proposals that Feijóo has raised on various issues and that they have not even had "acknowledgment of receipt" .

For this reason, he has said that who should be asked is the Government to see if it is willing to "agree on something with the Popular Party" or "what it is going to do is block everything so that the PP cannot propose".

Likewise, Bravo has affirmed that in the balance that Pedro Sánchez made last Friday, "not a hint of self-criticism or purpose of amendment" was appreciated, but "a clear distancing" from Spanish society was verified. In his opinion, citizens are tired of a "divided" government, "disconnected" from its problems and only focused on criticizing the alternative represented by the PP.

On the other hand, the person in charge of Economy of the PP has affirmed that the head of the Executive "expressly renounces the defense of Spanish in the classrooms of Catalonia" something that, in his opinion, is "very bad news that should not be allowed".

In addition, he has assured that it is a "lack of consideration" with the rest of the Autonomous Communities that last week, while the Treasury advisers were meeting with the Minister of the branch, María Jesús Montero, a table was held "called a dialogue between the Government of Spain and that of Catalonia". In his opinion, the Congress and the Senate are "the best dialogue table", since all the political forces are represented in the chambers.

Faced with the possibility that the swearing-in of the Constitution of the Princess of Asturias will not be in October 2023 because the Cortes could be dissolved, Bravo has indicated that "it is a question that corresponds to the Royal House."

“We do not have to make a statement there because it will be the Royal House that will have to determine what its times and deadlines are. And in this case, what corresponds to the rest of us is to facilitate maximum normality for this process,” he concluded.
