Sánchez appreciates the support of his partners in Congress and says that common sense has triumphed

MADRID, 25 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, has been grateful to his parliamentary partners who have allowed the Plenary Session of Congress to endorse this Thursday with a large majority (187 votes in favour) the energy saving decree law, in addition to the approval of other laws, assuring that "common sense has triumphed" and "sound politics".

This is how Sánchez expressed himself at the end of his statement to the media after the meeting with his Ecuadorian counterpart, Guillermo Lasso, as part of his Latin American tour. In this sense, he has taken advantage of his intervention to express his satisfaction and gratitude when "very important laws" were approved this Thursday in the Cortes Generales.

Specifically, the head of the Executive has referred to the definitive approval of the Law of Guarantees of Sexual Freedom, known as the Law of 'only yes is yes', with the only votes against being PP and Vox and the abstention of CUP. "A law to protect women against all types of violence suffered by women," he maintained.

He has also celebrated the approval of the Science Law "which will allow the stabilization of the scientific community in our country and a bankruptcy law that, without a doubt, will also facilitate the economic development of our country" --he has claimed-- to mention later the royal decree laws that are going to "improve the working middle class" in a "complex" scenario that Europe is experiencing "derived from the war in Ukraine."

"Measures that demonstrate our solidarity and commitment to our European partners against Putin's energy blackmail", Sánchez defended in reference to the energy saving decree that has been validated with the votes of the PSOE, United We Can, Esquerra Republicana, the PNV, EH -Bildu, the PDeCAT, Más País-Equo, Compromís, Teruel Exists and the PRC.

In this context, he thanked the parliamentary groups that have supported the aforementioned measures to "protect families, companies, industry and the working middle classes" against rising prices.

"Today in Congress common sense, healthy politics and defending the general interest have triumphed," Sánchez settled.
