Sémper says that Morocco notes the "weakness" of the government and that a "sensible" foreign policy would prevent the sit-in

MADRID, 2 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesman for the PP Campaign Committee, Borja Sémper, has reported this Thursday that he has the feeling that Morocco interprets the "internal weakness" of the Government and that a "more sensible" foreign policy would have prevented King Mohamed VI's sit-in on the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

This is how the 'popular' expressed himself in an interview on Antena 3, collected by Europa Press, when asked about the fact that the Alaouite monarch has not finally received Sánchez during his visit to Rabat for the bilateral summit and has invited him to hold a visit to Rabat soon.

"I have the feeling that in Morocco they are interpreting the internal weakness of the Government, practically the partner boycotts this summit and, on the other hand, a president who does not provide any clarity. If there were a more sensible international policy, this sit-in would not have occurred ", he assured.

Sémper has emphasized that foreign policy in relation to Morocco is "particularly sensitive" for many reasons, specifically, for issues such as the fight against terrorism, immigration and economic order. "It is important that it be reasonable and with a head," he stressed.

Thus, he has asserted that with Sánchez "everything is always strange" and it is also "in international matters." "For this reason, what is important is not what we already know about what is being done wrong, but what should be done," he added, while pointing out that if the Government projects an image of transparency and accounts with the opposition, "your position is stronger".

In another key, on the pact between ERC and the PSC to carry out the Catalan budgets, Sémper has pointed out that he has not been surprised. Although he has assessed that it is "reasonable and better" for Catalans to have accounts by 2023 than not to have them, "the problem is how do you form majorities and what society do you draw".

On the other hand, regarding the uncertainty that was settled yesterday regarding the future of the deputy mayor of Madrid, Begoña Villacís, Sémper stressed that the doors of Genoa are still open and that "what happens is something natural when a party goes through complicated circumstances". .

Specifically, asked about whether Villacís will join the PP after the municipal elections now that he has clarified that he is still in Ciudadanos, the spokesman for the Electoral Committee has stressed that "the doors will continue to be open to everyone." "We do not close ourselves to anything and anyone", he has concluded.
