Recorded a 5.1 earthquake on the Greek island of Crete

MADRID, 3 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 on the open Richter scale has shaken the Greek island of Crete early this Saturday, as reported by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (CMSC).

The earthquake took place at 7:13 a.m. (local time, 6:13 a.m. Spanish peninsular time), and its epicenter was located 118 kilometers east of Heraklion, the capital of the island.

The agency has added that the hypocenter has been located 10 kilometers deep. At the moment there is no information on victims or material damage due to this earthquake or tsunami danger.
