Podemos underlines the "dissent" with the PSOE for its "mistake" of not defending the referendum for the Sahara before Morocco

MADRID, 6 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The state co-spokesman for Podemos, Pablo Fernández, has stressed that everything that is not transferring Spain's support to the Saharawi people's self-determination referendum to Morocco is a "mistake" and has shown the "important disagreement" that he maintains with his partner in coalition on this matter.

This has been transferred at a press conference this Monday in reference to the meeting that Spain and Morocco will hold to complete the process of reopening the border, in addition to the appearance in Congress of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on his turn on the Occidental Sahara.

Fernández has conveyed that they will wait to see the results of the meeting but has emphasized that his formation has an "absolutely clear and diaphanous" position, which is to defend the right of self-determination of the Saharawi population.

"Everything that is not something different from that is an error. There we have an important disagreement, a big discrepancy with the PSOE, which is the one that has changed its position," the Podemos leader has launched.

Consequently, he has reiterated that everything that is not defending that referendum is a mistake and considers that the PSOE, if it is "coherent", should "support that claim" although he doubts that the Prime Minister will do so.
