The Minister of Industry, Tourism and Commerce, Reyes Maroto, has underlined that the agreement reached within the government coalition on public accounts for 2023 demonstrates the stability and responsibility of the Executive in a context marked by the uncertainty derived from the Ukraine war.

"The important thing is that this agreement shows the stability of the Government and, above all, public accounts that, for the third consecutive year, we can present in a context of uncertainty in which the working middle class will be given certainty. , with a historical maximum level of social spending to strengthen our welfare state", Maroto stressed in statements to TVE collected by Europa Press.

Likewise, he has affirmed that the General State Budgets (PGE) will also have repercussions in reinforcing the capacities of companies and in the generation of employment.

Asked what has been the key to unclogging the agreement between PSOE and United We Can to bring the PGE to the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, Maroto has insisted on the responsibility of the Government to provide certainty in a context of uncertainty and, in this sense, has pointed out that the PGE allow "effectively" to respond to a social majority, "reinforcing that welfare state and also investing in companies so that European funds can be deployed".

Likewise, the Minister of Industry has highlighted that the dialogue tone of the Government, with a view to the approval of public accounts, which has served to carry out many agreements that "are good for the country", including the labor reform.

"Today the data reconfirms that it is affecting our main problem, which was job insecurity, 47% of the new contracts that were signed in September are indefinite, the quality of employment greatly improves, especially for young people. ", he pointed out.
