MADRID, 9 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -
The cyclists Vegard Stake Laengen (UAE Team Emirates) and Geoffrey Bouchard (AG2R Citroën Team) did not take the start of the eighth stage of the Tour de France, which takes place between Dole and Lausanne over 186.3 kilometers, after testing positive for coronavirus.
The AG2R team confirmed that Bouchard was positive in the antigen test and that he would not be at the start of the eighth stage, while Laengen, teammate of the leader Tadej Pogacar, confirmed in a PCR that he was also positive.
On the other hand, after a fall at the beginning of the eighth stage, the American cyclist Kevin Vermaerke, of the Team DSM team, was forced to leave.
