MADRID, 24 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -
The Japan Meteorological Agency has declared this Sunday the maximum alert level and the mandatory evacuation of the populations near the 'Sakurajima' volcano, which has erupted this afternoon.
The volcano, one of the most active in Japan, is located in Kagoshima prefecture, in the southwest of the country, and for now there are no records of injuries during the eruption.
However, the authorities have decided to declare alert level 5, the highest, after warning that the volcano is expelling volcanic stones at a distance of more than a kilometer, according to the Japanese public broadcaster NHK.
