International Business Machines (IBM) recorded a net profit of 1,392 million dollars (1,373 million euros) between April and June, which represents an advance of 5% compared to the result recorded by the multinational in the second quarter of the previous year , as reported by the US company in a statement.

Likewise, the turnover of 'Big Blue' in the second quarter of 2022 reached 15,535 million dollars (15,326 million euros), 9.3% above the revenue recorded a year earlier, which represents the highest increase in company sales in a decade.

The software business reported income to IBM of 6,166 million dollars (6,083 million euros) in the quarter, 6.4% more, while the consulting area invoiced 4,809 million dollars (4,744 million), 9.8 % more, and infrastructures 19% more, up to 4,235 million dollars (4,178 million euros).

In this way, in the first semester IBM obtained a net profit of 2,125 million dollars (2,096 million euros), a figure 6.8% lower than that recorded in the first half of 2021, despite the fact that revenues from the multinational increased by 8.5% year-on-year, to 29,732 million dollars (29,331 million euros).

Looking ahead to the full year, IBM continues to expect revenue growth at the upper end of its mid-single-digit model, including an additional 3.5 percentage points contribution from incremental Kyndryl sales, while forecasting an adverse impact of six points related to the strength of the dollar.

In addition, the multinational cooled its free cash flow forecast, which now stands at about 10,000 million dollars (9,865 million euros), at the bottom of the previous range of between 10,000 and 10,500 million dollars (9,865 and 10,358 million euros). euros).
