France warns Iran that delivery of drones to Russia would violate nuclear deal resolution

MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Government of France has affirmed that if it is confirmed that Iran has delivered drones to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine, it would be a violation of the UN resolution that enshrined in 2015 the nuclear agreement signed between the Islamic Republic and the powers international.

The French Foreign Ministry has echoed this Thursday the "numerous information" that accounts for the use of Iranian-made kamikaze drones in the indiscriminate attacks carried out this week by Russian forces on different cities in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelensky, has denounced the use of these devices in his latest speeches, including the one he delivered on Tuesday at an emergency meeting of G7 leaders, in which his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, was present.

"The supply of Iranian drones to Russia would constitute a violation of resolution 2231 of the United Nations Security Council," said the spokeswoman for the French Foreign Ministry, who has called for continued coordination between European partners to provide support "to Ukraine and to the Ukrainian people.
