Bridgewater Associates increases its short position in Santander and BBVA to 0.6%

MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The 'hedge fund' Bridgewater Associates has increased its short position in the capital of Banco Santander and BBVA to 0.6% in both cases, according to the records of the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).

Until now, Bridgewater's short position in Banco Santander was 0.58%, while in BBVA he maintained a 'short' bet of 0.50%.

Now, the firm has notified that on October 11, 2022 it raised both bearish positions to 0.6% of the capital of each of the two large Spanish banks.

Bridgewater Associates, founded by Ray Dalio, is the only fund with a significant short position (greater than 0.5%) in both entities. Neither CaixaBank nor Bankinter currently have any significant downside in their capital, while in Sabadell the downside Citadel Advisors Europe Limited remains with 0.51% since last September 6.

At 2:00 p.m. this Thursday, BBVA shares were trading at a price of 4.69 euros, with a rise of 2.35%, and those of Santander were at a price of 2.48 euros, with a rebound of 2.61%.
