Batet reprimands Gamarra for talking about the 'Only Yes is yes' law and embezzlement in a European debate

MADRID, 24 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of Congress, Meritxell Batet, has asked the spokesperson for the Popular Group, Cuca Gamarra, to stick to the issue of the debate that the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, is leading this Tuesday in Congress, and has done so after the 'popular' leader will blame the head of the Executive, the consequences of the Sexual Freedom Law, known as the 'only yes is yes' law and the reform of the crime of embezzlement.

Batet interrupted Gamarra to remind him that Sánchez's appearance is for the last two meetings of the European Council and the economic and social measures approved to alleviate the consequences of the war in Ukraine.

"I ask you to please address the question of the appearance," Batet has claimed, provoking protests from the 'popular' bench.

"Thank you very much, but you should have also reminded the president who has referred to the royal decrees that have been validated today," the spokeswoman for the first opposition party replied.

And it is that Sánchez, in his initial speech, mentioned "a reactionary discourse that is replicated in Brazil and Spain", he referred to cases of corruption in the past and the territorial crisis in Catalonia, he alluded to Voz's anti-abortion measures, insinuating that the PP's "legs tremble to defend conquered rights", and he even ironized the stoppage of the Earth's core.
