Arrimadas defends his amendment against the PGE: "They are looting for young people and the ruin of the middle class"

MADRID, 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, has defended this Friday the amendment to the totality presented against the General State Budgets (PGE) of 2023 because the accounts suppose a "looting" for the Spanish youth and the "ruin of the middle class and worker".

Ciudadanos registered its amendment on Thursday and justifies it, fundamentally, in its rejection of the rise in public pensions according to the CPI, for which it accuses the Government of "bursting and blowing up the sustainability of the system and the entire Welfare State."

"These Budgets are a problem for Spain," Arrimadas summarized in a speech before the General Council of the 'orange' formation, where he insisted that they obey the "desire for power" of the president, Pedro Sánchez, and "comfort" of the PP, who "would do the same" if he were in government.

At the same time, he has stressed Citizens' position on the revaluation of pensions, recalling that "it is not new". But, in his opinion, "it is now that many Spaniards are opening their eyes." For this reason, he has defended the need to continue being "courageous" to talk about this matter.

In its amendment to the totality registered in Congress, and collected by Europa Press, Ciudadanos charges against the revaluation of pensions for "unsupportive and unsustainable", and stresses that in the accounts "their income and expenses are unknown", since These may be higher if the measures against the crisis that are not contemplated in the accounts are prolonged.

The 'orange' formation criticizes the State that the Budgets draw because it considers that it is "swallowed by its own level of spending" and "forgets the young and the middle class", for whom it asks for "some relief" in the form of reductions in taxes.

Likewise, Ciudadanos considers that the Budgets miss the opportunity to promote reforms such as another in the labor market, with the Austrian backpack, incentives for the birth rate, more resources for Primary Care or a general study for the extension of the useful life of the plants nuclear.
