Vodafone recycled almost 1.6 million devices in Spain in the first quarter of the year

MADRID, 10 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Vodafone Spain recycled and reused almost 1.6 million devices in the first quarter of the year, including scooters, televisions, 'routers' and terminals, as reported by the company in a statement.

In this sense, 77% was allocated to reuse and the remaining 23% to recycling, the company has detailed, which has also highlighted that in the first three months of the year it repaired 65,000 terminals.

"Vodafone has a terminal repair service at any Vodafone store or at home and (customers) can request a replacement terminal free of charge during the approximate five business days that the process lasts," he stressed.

In addition, as part of the agreement with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) organization for customers to "responsibly" recycle or reuse their phones, between December 2022 and March 2023 another 11,103 terminals were collected.

"Regarding network waste, Vodafone Spain recycles or reuses 100% of its telecommunications equipment. 99% of the total has been reused and 1% recycled, thus ensuring that 722 tons of equipment are not deposited in landfills. This figure contributes to the global objective of the Vodafone group, which establishes that 100% of its network waste be reused, resold or recycled by 2025," the operator highlighted.
