UN Human Rights Office warns that Israel's attacks in Jabalia could constitute war crimes

MADRID, 1 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The United Nations Human Rights Office has warned this Wednesday that the recent Israeli attacks against the town of Jabalia, located in the north of the Gaza Strip and which houses a refugee camp, could amount to war crimes.

"Given the high number of civilian casualties and the escalation of destruction following the Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp, we are seriously concerned that these are disproportionate attacks that could constitute war crimes," the UN office said. on their social networks.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed both Tuesday and Wednesday air strikes against the town of Jabalia. The first attack claimed the lives of nearly fifty members of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and destroyed underground infrastructure of the Palestinian militia.
