The jury of the prestigious World Press Photo has recognized as photo of the year the image of a pregnant woman evacuated in March 2022 from a hospital in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol, one of the symbols of the attacks perpetrated by Russian forces on civilian facilities after the start of the invasion.
