BARCELONA, 26 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -
The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has sentenced the Minister of Foreign Action and European Union of the Generalitat, Meritxell Serret, to one year of disqualification for alleged disobedience in the organization and holding of the 1-O referendum in 2017 , when he headed the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Food.
In the sentence, consulted this Wednesday by Europa Press, it also imposes a fine of 12,000 euros.
Serret was tried on March 29, and at the trial she demanded her acquittal, declared that she acted in compliance with the "democratic mandate" of the pro-independence majority of Parliament in favor of 1-O, and maintained that the referendum was not a crime.
