Iberdrola sells its renewable business in Romania for 88 million euros and leaves the country

MADRID, 29 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Iberdrola announced this Monday the sale to Premier Energy Group of its renewable business in Romania for a total of 88 million euros, as part of its plan to divest non-strategic assets.

Specifically, Premier Energy Group, through its Romanian subsidiary Premier Renewable Invest, has taken control of 100% of the wind energy company Dobrogea One, until now owned by the Spanish company.

In this way, Iberdrola divests itself of the 80 megawatts (MW) of wind power it had in the region, thus ceasing to operate in Romania.

The company chaired by Ignacio Sánchez Galán has specified that the operation is subject to the usual regulatory approvals for this type of transaction in Romania.

This divestment is part of the strategic plan presented on March 21 by the company in London, with which it intends to obtain more than 12.2 billion euros in the period 2024-2026.
