The State Attorney's Office asks to appear in 'Democratic Tsunami' for the damages of €362,000 in El Prat

MADRID, 9 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The State Attorney's Office has asked the judge of the National Court (AN) investigating the riots allegedly orchestrated by Tsunami Democràtic in response to the 'procés' ruling to allow him to appear in the case as a damaged party for the almost 362,000 euros he had to pay the Insurance Compensation Consortium (CCS) to AENA for the damage caused during the mobilizations of October 14, 2019 at the El Prat airport.

In a letter, to which Europa Press has had access, the State Attorney's Office - representing the CCS - asks the head of the Central Court of Instruction Number 6, Manuel García Castellón, to give him access to the case as an accusation particularly for the compensation that the Insurance Compensation Consortium had to pay to AENA at the time.

In an attached document, there are two transfers from April and May 2020 due to the "tumult" of that October 14 where the CCS paid AENA 50,000 and 311,997.35 euros, respectively.

García Castellón investigates whether the altercations that followed the sentences imposed by the Supreme Court (TS) on former Catalan vice president Oriol Junqueras and other pro-independence leaders for the illegal 1-O referendum were organized by Tsunami Democràtic.

The instructor has focused on the protests in El Prat, specifically on the death of a French tourist due to a heart attack, considering that the independence mobilizations could have had an influence.

The judge points to terrorism crimes and has asked the Supreme Court to investigate former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont and the general secretary of ERC, Marta Rovira, for these events.

Meanwhile, the Prosecutor's Office of the National Court has appealed, considering that there is not enough evidence against Puigdemont and that, at most, it would be a crime of public disorder.
