The PP proposes to dissolve organizations that promote illegal referendums or declare independence

MADRID, 3 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Miguel Tellado, announced this Wednesday that the entire amendment with alternative text that the PP is going to present to the amnesty law contemplates the dissolution of organizations that promote illegal referendums or declare the independence of a part of the national territory.

This initiative, which the PP plans to register this Wednesday in Congress, also seeks punishments for "authorities, positions or public officials who promote non-observance of laws or non-compliance with judicial resolutions", seeking to "harm unity" from Spain.

This alternative text that complements the amendment is a reform of the Penal Code and will be debated in the Plenary Session of Congress within a week.

In its initiative, the PP is committed to classifying "declarations of independence" and "things related to violence" or "illegal consultations" as a crime, according to Tellado, who has not clarified whether what is sought with the proposal of promoting "the dissolution of organizations or legal persons that commit any of these crimes" is to outlaw pro-independence formations, as Vox does defend.
