Sémper denounces that "there are people overcrowded" in municipalities and there is no coordination or information from the Government to regional authorities

MADRID, 19 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The national spokesperson of the PP and deputy secretary of Culture, Borja Sémper, assured this Friday that he is "aligned" with the position of the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, on immigration and has accused the Government of Pedro Sánchez of " lack of responsibility". Thus, he has denounced that "there are people overcrowded" in municipalities and there is no coordination or information from the central Executive to local and regional authorities.

This is what he said after this week Ayuso demanded that the Government come up with a plan to deal with the "tremendous wave" of migrants and not take them "undercover" to the Peninsula. In addition, he said that there had been "several serious brawls" in the center of Alcalá de Henares and that neighbors had reported sexual assaults.

In an interview on Telecico, which Europa Press has collected, Sémper has opted to offer humanitarian support. "These are human beings looking for a better life and the Government treats these people irresponsibly," he stated.

When asked if the national leadership of the PP shares Ayuso's speech in this case, Sémper has admitted that they attend with "great concern" what they are seeing, given that Sánchez's Executive "is treating these migrants in a way absolutely irresponsible."

"We are talking about there being more than 1,200 people crammed into tents in municipalities, in this case in Alcalá de Henares. We are talking about there being no coordination and no information to the local authorities or the autonomous authorities. We are talking about what is absolutely inhuman treatment by the Government towards these people who come looking for a better life," he denounced.

Sémper has stressed that there is "absolutely inhuman" treatment by the Government towards these people and has criticized that all this is being used for "political quarrels", alluding to the statements of the Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, who has accused Ayuso "lies" and has denied the existence of sexual assaults carried out by migrants arriving from the Canary Islands in Alcalá.

That said, he has appealed to the responsibility of public authorities, "starting with whoever has the competence, which is the Government", which he has asked to "treat these migrants more humanely."

Asked again if the national PP maintains a different position from that of Ayuso, Sémper denied it. "We are absolutely in agreement and aligned with the position reflected by the President of the Community of Madrid, we have also seen the complaints. But let the National Police investigate," he said, to insist that they are "concerned with this phenomenon" and "the lack of responsibility of the Government" of Pedro Sánchez.
