Starting today, Renfe reorganizes the services of the Madrid Chamartín station due to the expansion works

Starting this Monday, Renfe will reorganize its services due to the expansion works that Adif is carrying out at the Madrid Chamartín-Clara Campoamor station, which is addressing a phase to double its capacity for high-speed and long-distance trains, which will be extended until the month of July.

Adif's improvement works to expand and transform the Chamartín station bring with them a reorganization of the Renfe service to adjust to the capacity of the terminal, especially affecting the relations of the Northwest, North and Levante corridor.

To optimize the capacity of the infrastructure, the current offer of places will be maintained and new services will even be launched that will connect with the Mediterranean. The new plan establishes the circulation of trains in double composition, which allows optimizing the capacity of the infrastructure and offers a greater number of seats in some circulations.

The impact on the line that connects Madrid with Asturias is minimal, since the same schedules and frequencies are maintained in its services. Only the afternoon train schedule from Madrid is modified, currently leaving on Fridays, which will change to Saturday morning.

The current supply of long-distance seats in the Galicia-Zamora-Madrid corridor will be maintained thanks to the circulation of trains in double composition, thus compensating for changes in service frequencies.

A bus service will also be put into circulation to connect Zamora and Puebla de Sanabria early in the morning, and return in the early afternoon.

In the Madrid-Lugo relationship, transfers by road will continue between Ourense and Monforte de Lemos or Lugo (due to the interruption due to works on the infrastructure that Adif has established between Monforte de Lemos and Ourense), and customers will be able to connect in Ourense with the commercial services established for those dates, which includes double composition trains.

In Castilla y León, Salamanca maintains the offer of trains and seats, although with some time changes. Renfe has been able to readjust the offer of this corridor and the early morning train between Salamanca and Madrid will allow travelers the usual arrival time at their destinations early in the day, so that the departure from Salamanca will be at 06:25 hours with arrival in Madrid Chamartín at 08:05 hours.

The new structure of services in the province of León will bring with it a new direct AVE connection to Valencia, which will also provide stops at the rest of the stations on the line (Palencia, Valladolid and Segovia) and slight time changes.

In Ponferrada, the Long Distance frequency will be maintained, although from Monday to Friday in the Madrid direction there is a slight variation in the arrival time in Madrid, arriving at 10:35 a.m. instead of 10:05 a.m., as a result of the coupling to another train in Valladolid, thus maintaining the number of seats offered in both directions.

The service schedules between Burgos and Madrid will be modified and will be improved with a new AVE connection with Murcia. With this restructuring, Renfe goes one step further and implements new AVE trains that improve the offer of seats in some relations with Madrid and generates a new AVE service to Elche, Orihuela and Murcia.

In the case of Miranda de Ebro, the frequencies will be restructured, although the seats offered with trains in double composition will be maintained, there will also be time adjustments.

Regarding long-distance services in the Valladolid-Madrid corridor, in addition to the time changes, the offer is improved with a new Avlo service with connection to Alicante and Murcia. Likewise, Valladolid will benefit from two other new AVE connections: those that will circulate between León and Valencia and Burgos-Murcia.

The reorganization of services in Cantabria will bring with it time changes, but the frequencies offered by Renfe will be maintained, even if there are transfers in some circulation.

The current departure schedule is maintained in all circulations, with the exception of Madrid-Santander: the 7:08 p.m. train delays its departure at 7:53 p.m. with a transfer in Valladolid every day except Saturdays. This day, the 7:08 p.m. train delays departure at 7:50 p.m. and does not transfer.

On the Santander-Madrid, the 1:55 p.m. train is delayed at 2:35 p.m. and transfers in Segovia every day except for Saturdays, which will continue to Madrid without the need for a transfer. The same happens with the services between Euskadi and Madrid, Renfe will maintain its frequencies, although there will be slight time changes in the departures to and from Donostia/San Sebastián and VitoriaGasteiz.

All frequencies and schedules are maintained on routes between Bilbao and Madrid. Regarding departures to and from Donostia/San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz, the following circulations modify the departure times.

In Donostia/San Sebastián-Madrid, the 5:02 a.m. train is delayed at 5:40 a.m. and the 3:17 p.m. train is delayed at 5:00 p.m. On Sundays the 5:05 p.m. train is brought forward to 2:20 p.m.

In Vitoria/Gasteiz-Madrid, the 6:45 a.m. train is delayed at 7:25 a.m. and the 4:59 p.m. train is delayed at 6:46 p.m. On Sundays the 6:47 p.m. train will run at 4:10 p.m.

In Madrid-Vitoria/Gasteiz-Donostia/San Sebastián, the 8:43 train goes ahead at 7:15 a.m.

95% of the offer of places in the Alicante/Valencia relationship with Madrid will be maintained. In the case of the Alicante capital, the new service structure will bring with it an Avlo connection between Alicante and Valladolid.

Likewise, depending on the capacity of the infrastructure with the works, four daily connections (two in each direction) with Madrid are eliminated, so the offer goes from 30 to 26 daily services.

For its part, Valencia will have an AVE connection with León, making intermediate stops in Valladolid and Palencia. In this case, the offer also goes from 32 to 28 daily High Speed ​​services, eliminating four daily connections (two in each direction).
