Spain, women's inline hockey world champion for the first time

The Spanish women's inline hockey team has been proclaimed world champion in the category for the first time in its history by beating France (1-2) in the final of the World Skate Games, including a comeback and three extra times of play. 2022, played in Argentina.

Spain achieved historic gold, the first in its history, thanks to a golden goal from Olivia Monjas in the third 'extra-time' of a final in which the French went ahead with a goal from Gandit Camille and the Spanish came back with Ana Sierra's draw and that late and priceless goal by Monjas.

Ángel Ruiz's players had to suffer to be able to hang the persecuted gold medal in the Argentine event. On the verge of half-time, the tie left everything open for a second half in which Spain had more chances, without any of them piercing Marion Rebuffet's goal.

With Spain focused on attack, and France waiting for a miracle on defense, it was finally in the third extra time when Olivia Monjas scored the golden goal to give the first World Championship to the senior women's inline hockey team.

"From the RFEP we would like to take the opportunity to applaud and thank the great work that the Spanish clubs and technicians have done and continue to do," the Royal Spanish Skating Federation thanked the national team after the success.
