Reyes Maroto questions the "opaque hiring" of Javier Maroto's husband, unethical and "immoral"

MADRID, 28 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The socialist spokesperson in the Madrid City Council, Reyes Maroto, has questioned the "opaque hiring" in Cibeles of the husband of PP senator Javier Maroto, which is unethical, "immoral" and which "undermines the trust" of citizens in the institutions.

The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, found out that the husband of the PP senator Javier Maroto was working at the City Hall because the now deputy director of Analysis and Evaluation told him to assure, immediately afterwards, that he has not received call or any communication from your party partner.

The newspaper 'El País' points out this Thursday that the City Council hired José Manuel Rodríguez Carballo, husband of the first vice president of the Senate, Javier Maroto, in October, after a process in which 22 other candidates presented themselves.

"Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the Almeida government has been involved in this type of scandal," the socialist declared at the doors of the Town Hall. Her municipal group is going to request the contracting file to check "if it is legal or not."

For the PSOE spokesperson, in any case "it is unethical. It is an opaque contract, which undermines the trust of Madrid residents in the institutions. These are always the ways that the Almeida government has, of opacity, of delegitimizing the institutions." .

Reyes Maroto has even spoken of "institutional corruption." At this point he recalled that the PSOE has already presented two complaints to the Anti-Fraud Office so far this term.

"It is an opaque hiring, certainly immoral, the ways that the City Council has of placing Javier Maroto's husband and using the influences it has. We will see the hiring file and we will take measures in case we see any irregularity but, beyond illegality or not, it is certainly unethical because it undermines the trust of Madrid residents in the institution, which should represent the general interests of Madrid," he alleged.
