MADRID, 23 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 on the Richter scale has shaken this Thursday the Turkish province of Kahramanmaras (south), epicenter of the devastating earthquakes of February 6, which left more than 50,000 dead in Turkey and around 6,000 in Syria .

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), under the Turkish Ministry of the Interior, has indicated on its Twitter account that the earthquake had its hypocenter seven kilometers deep.

The quake has been followed by several aftershocks, including one of magnitude 4, with no information on casualties or material damage so far. The head of the AFAD, Yunus Sezer, has pointed out that for now "there are no negative situations" and has reported that "the analyzes continue on the ground".
