Pons (PP) accuses the CIS of being "illegal financing" of the PSOE: "It is no longer a matter of laughing it off"

MADRID, 21 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Institutional Vice-Secretary of the PP, Esteban González Pons, has harshly charged this Friday against the Center for Sociological Research (CIS) before its latest barometer, accusing the organization of being "illegal financing of the PSOE", at the same time that he has stressed that If something like this happened in a European institution, an investigation commission would be opened. "It is no longer a matter of laughing at it," has attracted attention.

He did so when asked about the CIS barometer published yesterday, which continues to show the PSOE as the force with the greatest intention to vote, unlike the rest of the polls, with a four-point advantage over the PP: 30.4% compared to 26 .1%, respectively.

The also MEP, in an interview on TVE, collected by Europa Press, has attacked with "the corresponding seriousness" against the CIS, led by the socialist sociologist José Félix Tezanos, and the PSOE, of which he has said that it uses the demoscopic center to do studies that are of interest not to the government but to the party itself.

"I am going to say it with the corresponding seriousness: I think that the CIS today is illegal financing of the PSOE, I think that it uses the CIS not only to carry out the studies that the PSOE, not the Government of Spain, is interested in, but also so that the results that collaborate with the propaganda that the PSOE proposes are announced", he assured.

Having said this, he was asked if with those words he was attributing a crime to the PSOE, to which the PP leader replied "no", that he had not mentioned "any crime", but that he does believe -he has repeated- - which is "illegal financing".

"I think that the CIS makes and publishes the studies that interest the PSOE and collaborates with the PSOE's propaganda," insisted González Pons, who has stated that in the next legislature "it will be necessary to investigate" how the organization has worked and take the measures that are relevant.

The MEP has pointed out that "nobody" believes his polls and has declared that "it is no longer a matter of laughing it off", but that we must "take it very seriously". "Because I assure you that if what is happening in the CIS happened in a European institution, at this moment there would be a commission of inquiry to see who is benefiting from the CIS's errors", he proclaimed.
