Podemos invites Yolanda Díaz to Madrid and Valencia for 28M events and hopes that she will respond "soon"

MADRID, 18 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The co-spokesperson for Podemos, Isa Serra, has reiterated this Tuesday that they continue with their hand outstretched for the pact with Sumar, she has indicated that they have offered Yolanda Díaz to participate with them in events in the Community of Madrid and the Valencian Community, where The purples compete on May 28 in the municipal and regional elections with Más Madrid and Compromís, and has said that they still have no response from the vice president but they hope she will do so "soon".

Serra has indicated that it is "fundamental" for Podemos and Sumar to offer the public a message of unity before May 28 despite being two "different" parties, an agreement for which, he has highlighted, the purples have been working for "for a lot".

Asked about the sites to which Díaz has been offered to campaign for the Podemos candidates, Serra has indicated that the offer extends to "many" municipalities and autonomous communities, but has emphasized the Community of Madrid and the Valencian Community for "the importance they have" for the purple ones: in the first so that there is a "good opposition" to the PP and in the second to repeat the regional Executive with the PSOE and Compromís, he stressed.

"We have to go to the general elections together and we extend our hand to Yolanda Díaz," Serra insisted in statements to TVE, collected by Europa Press, assuring that the agreement is "easy" and that it can be signed now, but with the condition that there are primaries to form the lists.

The representative of Podemos has asked to stop "recriminations" between organizations and focus on the agreement, which is "what is important" and what the left and the citizens need, she has deepened.

And regarding the opposition of the PP to the housing law promoted by the coalition government, the co-spokesperson has indicated that price controls have already taken place with the measures against the consequences of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine.

Serra has considered it necessary to intervene in the market to lower prices, put an end to "abusive increases" and guarantee the right to housing, an advance that the PP "obviously opposes."

The housing law, has had an impact, creates a framework at the state level so that the autonomous communities can regulate prices and has asked the 'popular' why rents rise in the autonomies where they govern and decrease in those administered by the left.

He has also been asked about the possible return of the King emeritus to Spain in the near future and if the time has come for him to return and stay permanently, to which he has replied that what Juan Carlos I has to do is "pay accounts" before the Spanish Justice for their "scandals" and "corrupt" practices.

Serra has criticized that there is an "operation" to try to "save" the monarchical institution from "what the King emeritus has meant" and has advocated for a republic "sooner rather than later" that allows the head of state to be elected.
