"Today the Argentine people suffer and poverty increases. Milei's promise to repeat the neoliberal system of 30 years ago could be a failure foretold," Petro wrote on his X account, also in response to a message from the Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to whom Milei has also dedicated attacks.

"His thesis in the world that has seen today how neoliberalism led to worsening the climate crisis, and to putting us on the brink of extinction, as a species, is not correct. The Argentine people are the ones who must discuss these issues and decide," he said. added the Colombian president.

In that sense, Petro has pointed out that "despite the insults", they must preserve the "project of unity" and "diversity" of Latin America and the Caribbean.

Petro's response comes after his Government demanded an official apology from Milei for what he considers an attitude typical of a village bully. In an interview for CNN, the Argentine said of his Colombian counterpart that "not much can be expected from someone who was a terrorist murderer."

Casa Nariño's first reaction was to announce the order to expel several Argentine diplomats from the country, including the ambassador, Gustavo Alejandro Dzugala, in office since 2021 and appointed by former president Alberto Fernández.
