Great aim from the Real Madrid leader in El Sadar

Vinícius double for the meringues' 2-4 against Osasuna

MADRID, 16 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Real Madrid won this Saturday 2-4 on their visit to CA Osasuna, thanks to two goals from Vinícius Jr., another from Dani Carvajal and another from Brahim Díaz, in a match corresponding to matchday 29 of LaLiga EA Sports and that It helped the Madridistas maintain their comfortable lead in the competition.

In El Sadar, the duel began without respite. As the 3rd minute was about to expire, and due to pressure from Vinícius, Alejandro Catena lost a ball as Osasuna's last defender. The merengue striker stole that ball in a three-quarter line and advanced until he was planted in the area.

The local goalkeeper, Sergio Herrera, tried to cover gaps without any reward as Real Madrid's '7' quickly defined with a low and crossed shot into the back of the net. Far from complaining about the blow, the rojillos equalized the score three minutes later. In a corner, Carvajal at the near post headed back and the ball fell at the feet of Jorge Herrando.

At first, the Rojillo youth player made a cross-shot that returned from the far post to the first post for Ante Budimir to finish from point-blank range in the six-yard box, with the ball sneaking into the goal after passing between Carvajal's legs. Double failure by the merengue right back, who later made up for it by scoring 1-2 through a nice resource.

But before that second white goal, there were a couple of serious warnings. First it was another one-on-one from Vinícius, whose unmarking behind the center backs made good on a filtered pass from Antonio Rüdiger and served to remain alone in front of Herrera; 'Vini' made a bicycle, instead of finishing quickly, and the goalkeeper cleared the shot with his leg.

The next warning was a distant shot from Rodrygo Goes after a quarter of an hour, which Herrera repelled well. But in the 18th minute, the local goalkeeper could do little after a great combination by the visitors. At the left peak of the rival area, Brahim poked the ball inwards for Fede Valverde to control with his back to the goal; without letting it fall, and with Catena on top, the Uruguayan turned while centering at the penalty spot.

And ready to make amends for his mistakes in the Osasunista draw, Carvajal appeared as a forward and volleyed with his right ankle, scoring a 1-2 score that put the game out. It then went from a dizzying pace to a dense one, with Carlo Ancelotti's pupils well positioned and treating the ball with parsimony or speed when necessary at all times.

In a rush when the 34th minute passed, 'Vini' received the ball on the edge of the area and hit a low cross right hand, which went wide near the far post. Pamplona's response came in the 40th minute, thanks to Jose Arnaiz, who was preparing to shoot with his right foot from outside the area while Valverde was unable to block.

That shot from Arnaiz activated Andriy Lunin, stretching to send the ball to a corner kick. The Ukrainian goalkeeper caught another shot in that same corner and, then, Real Madrid mounted a quick attack with 'Vini' opening the play towards the right flank; Valverde ran there, whose powerful cross tripped on Johan Mojica's foot and changed direction, forcing a save by Herrera into the top corner.

The beginning of the second half did not predict that Osasuna would press with impetus and, to make matters worse, the merengue team showed accuracy in their next threatening approach. Lunin took a long shot from his area and Valverde extended a header into the center of the field, having beaten Catena.

Brahim saw a huge gap in the middle of Osasuna's three centre-backs, sprinted faster than Unai García and beat Herrera with a right foot at grass level (61'). Without delay, Ancelotti's men scored the fourth in the 64th minute thanks again to 'Vini', who tamed a pass from Valverde with his stomach after a previous assist from Rüdiger when coming from behind.

The white '7' advanced meters in his career, stepped into the area and surpassed the red goalkeeper with a light touch with the outside of his right boot. The carousel of substitutions in both teams ended up diminishing the duel, which from there in the end could have seen more goals from Real Madrid if 'Vini' himself or Rodrygo had sharpened their sights against an overwhelmed Herrera.

Even Lucas Vázquez, in the 88th minute, scored a goal disallowed for offside after a shot by Luka Modric from outside the area. Iker Muñoz, in stoppage time, scored inside the white area to make it 2-4 with a powerful low right hand that entered through Lunin's legs.

The last play was a left-footed shot by Arda Güler from the center of the field that hit the crossbar. Finally, this comfortable victory put the merengue team with 72 points, distancing themselves from Girona FC and FC Barcelona from their leadership position. For its part, Osasuna remained with 36 points in the middle of the table, and with fewer and fewer objectives.
