CCOO estimates that there are still 300,000 votes to be delivered by mail, which will be distributed until Wednesday

Comisiones Obreras (CCOO) calculates that some 300,000 electoral documentation for voting by mail are still within the postal circuit. Company sources told Europa Press that they have until next Wednesday the 19th to deliver the ballots and even in the event that the recipients are not at home that day they can go to the Post Office on the 20th with the notice, where they will receive the ballots and they can vote.

Last week, Correos provided the data on the applications to vote by mail for these elections on July 23, which amounted to 2.6 million, although as of Friday, July 14, some 737,000 electoral documents remained to be delivered.

To do this, the Census Office had until Sunday, July 16, to send the Post Office all the electoral documentation --including the ballots-- to be distributed. Postal workers try to personally deliver the documentation to the voter up to a maximum of twice. After that, they leave a notice of arrival for collection at the corresponding post office.

In this context, Correos sources have explained that the postmen have to deliver this electoral documentation until Wednesday, July 19, although in the event that the applicant is not at home and the notice of arrival is left, they can pick up this documentation in a post office until July 20.

Once this documentation is received, the voter who has chosen this method of voting has a term until Thursday, July 20 --although the Post Office does not rule out extending it-- to deposit the documentation in any office. There, the Post Office workers will require the voter to identify himself with the DNI or a similar document.
