Ayuso says goodbye to the year by putting the region as a counter to Sánchez's "policies of inequality and confrontation"

"We are the fashionable region, that of prosperity, desire and joy," he emphasizes.

MADRID, 31 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, said goodbye to the year this Sunday in a message she sent to the people of Madrid, putting the region as a counterweight to the "policies of inequality and confrontation" of the Government of Spain.

His speech, broadcast tonight on Telemadrid, was recorded at the University of Alcalá de Henares, a city that celebrated the 25th anniversary of its declaration as World Heritage. "Twenty-five years ago Alcalá stopped being totally for the people of Alcalá and became, in part, for the whole world. A source of pride for its wonderful people," he emphasized.

Next, Ayuso has assessed 2023 as "politically bittersweet." He is grateful that they gave him the absolute majority in the regional elections in order to "work for all citizens, with serenity, in a very turbulent Spain."

"The serious error of the amnesty, of coalition with the Basque and Catalan separatist minorities, of choosing communist policies that only impoverish and suffocate, of promoting inequality between Spaniards and confrontation, make the strength of the Madrid Government essential. They make our role as the engine of Spain, the gateway to avant-garde and new policies, alliances and openness, prosperity and joy, is even more important," he points out.

The regional president emphasizes that this allows them to continue with the policies that have placed them "at the head of all of Spain" in economic indices, tourism, health achievements, culture, life expectancy, education, agri-food products, of development of new technologies, "of excitement for novelty, for life in freedom and fullness, for striving, prospering, creating and thinking big."

Ayuso has assured that his Government not only "manages well", but also has "a moral and ethical duty towards all Spaniards". "As the King said on Christmas Eve: 'Thanks to the Constitution we managed to overcome the division, which has been the cause of many errors in our history'. Inequality and division between Spaniards is going to create problems for us in Madrid," he highlighted.

For this reason, the head of the regional Executive has called to defend the Constitution and coexistence as "the greatest and best daily work." "Between us and with everyone. No matter where we come from. We must not allow anyone to build walls. A society in conflict is doomed to failure, ruin and frustration. In our region there is no room for resentment. Our commitment is to harmony and freedom. Let us never lose trust in each other, nor let anything break our affections and our desires," he stressed.

Its commitment for 2024 is therefore to defend the model of coexistence "in which no one is above the law; where the independence of judges is preserved and in which those who think differently are respected." "A region that is at the service of everyone's Spain; that does not forget the victims of terrorism and knows itself to be represented by national symbols: the flag, the anthem and the shield," she says.

In line, the president has defended the King as "arbitrator of democracy and guarantor of the constitutional framework and unity and equality before the Law." "The Monarchy is the political form of the State that all Spaniards elected and our obligation is to respect and preserve this mandate. As it is to do the same with the Constitution, our best way of understanding life in freedom, without walls, in coexistence" , considers.

In his New Year's Eve message, Díaz Ayuso indicated that although it has been an "economically and socially good" year in Madrid, there have been bad moments, such as the DANA that affected municipalities in the southwest in September. "We are working to resolve the damage, but I am aware that, in many cases, the deepest losses are not material," he says.

At that point, he also remembered the residents of San Fernando de Henares affected by Metro line 7B.

Furthermore, the president has addressed "from the heart" to people who suffer, to those who are alone, sick or experiencing economic difficulties. "To all those who, for whatever reason, cannot live the adventure of life to the fullest and only want to be counted on. Nothing that happens to them is foreign to us. And from the Community we are doing everything in our power. our hands to be useful to them," he said.

For this reason, Ayuso continued, 90% of the new regional Budgets, "which are the most powerful in their history", is destined for social policies, "to continue improving the best healthcare in Europe, one of the best educations in Spain , family policies and the most advanced social services, housing, transportation...".

Ayuso has also expressed his gratitude to the people who are ensuring the health and safety of the people of Madrid on these dates. "To the health workers, judges, police, civil guards and security guards; to firefighters, transport and civil protection, to those who guarantee the operation of essential services, to workers or volunteers. To all those who spend these dates outside their homes in the line of duty: Armed Forces, missionaries, officials...", he listed.

On the other hand, Isabel Díaz explained that the Community of Madrid has lowered taxes and has established itself as the "economic engine" of Spain: "We grow above average, we lead the creation of companies, the attraction of foreign investment. We are "the region that creates the most jobs and a record number of Social Security affiliates. We are the fashionable region, the region of prosperity, desire and joy. The Community is so attractive that we will close 2023 with 14 million tourists," he detailed. .

At that time, he gave three examples of that "strength", such as the inauguration of "the largest educational infrastructure", the Public Institute of Montecarmelo; the "largest health project in Europe", the new 12 de Octubre building; and the "best operating room in the world", which is in the Gregorio Marañón. "Our health centers are always at the top of all rankings," he added.

By 2024, the Madrid leader expects good news, such as the details of the arrival of Formula 1 to Ifema and other major events. "In the digitalization of public services, the Single Social History will improve the quality of life of those who need it most. It speeds up procedures, improves diagnosis and social and health services are personalized to be more effective," she added.

Ayuso has also announced that next year they will finish the work on another 4,000 new homes of the VIVE Plan, they will expand the Guadarrama National Park; and the new Spanish Community Ballet "will be a pole of attraction for talent, an obligation to Spanish culture."

Likewise, he has advanced that Madrid "will be a national and international example in well-considered, executive, practical and effective actions to help youth and the population in general to combat drug dependence and other addictions that take away freedom and destroy projects." of life".

Finally, the head of the regional Executive has highlighted that Madrid has the "immense fortune" of being the capital region of Spain. "We have a unique historical and cultural legacy in the world that we must improve to leave as a legacy to those who are to come. In everyone's region, where people come to live in peace, to be what they want to be, to decide how to undertake, earn a living, train or create a family as you choose. And face this wonderful daily adventure that is life in freedom. And if we are able to spread our enthusiasm, we will also make Spain the best," he concluded.
