Ayuso announces new aid of 1,800 euros per child for multiple births and adoptions

They will come into force on January 1 and applications may be submitted within a maximum period of two months from the birth or adoption

MADRID, 27 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, announced this Wednesday the approval of new aid to promote birth rates that will come into force this coming January 1.

This is a payment of 1,800 euros per child in the case of multiple births or adoptions. Thus, each family will receive in a single payment 3,600 euros for births or adoptions of two, 5,400 for three, and so on, as outlined in the press conference after the last Government Council of the year.

This measure is framed in the Strategy for the Protection of Maternity and Paternity and the Promotion of Birth and Reconciliation 2022/26, which includes more than 80 initiatives structured around different areas of daily life.

The beneficiaries of the new aid must meet the following requirements when submitting the application: be Spanish or a foreigner with legal residence in Spain, be registered in the region and have a per capita family unit income of less than 30,000 euros. Applications may be submitted from next January 1 and within a maximum period of 60 calendar days from the birth or multiple adoption.

These aids are also added to the 500 euros per baby that pregnant women under 30 years of age receive from the 21st week of pregnancy, as well as adopters, and until the child turns 2 years old. In total, these women receive 14,500 euros per child over those 29 months.

Since the entry into force of this support from the Community of Madrid with effect from January 1, 2022, 19,027 applications have been managed and almost 13,500 have already been granted. The regional government has also recently approved a new investment of more than 114 million euros to promote birth rates starting in 2024.
