18F.- Podemos denounces the "dismantling" of healthcare carried out by the PP, with "2,000 million cut in primary"

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, 4 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Podemos Galicia's candidate for the Presidency of the Xunta, Isabel Faraldo, has denounced the "dismantling" of Galician public health by the Popular Party, with "2,000 million" euros cut in primary care.

In statements to the media before participating in the demonstration called this Sunday by SOS Sanidade Pública in Santiago de Compostela, Faraldo, who is a healthcare professional, considered it necessary to defend healthcare as the "jewel" of public services.

"We come out to defend it against the dismantling to which the Popular Party's policies condemn us year after year and one of the clearest examples we have is the 2,000 million euros cut in primary care," he said.

In this sense, he referred to the report of the Patient Ombudsman that places Galician healthcare as the most "saturated" in Spain and said that these 2,000 million less translate into issues such as "31 closed offices in Galicia" and lack of personnel , also in hospitals.

In addition, Podemos state deputy Javier Sánchez Serna participated in the march, highlighting that "Isabel Faraldo has been fighting for public health for many years, and knows what needs to be done to protect it" in relation to the candidate's career. as an employee of the Galician Health Service and a union member in this same sector.

Serna has expressed the need to "reinvest these 2,000 million euros in watermelon" and to "ban these endless waiting lists that are costing lives." Likewise, she has pointed out the "need to invest more in mental health, which cannot be a privilege that can be paid for."
