Zelensky addresses the Frankfurt Fair: "Russia imports death and spreads it everywhere"

FRANKFURT, Oct. 20 (from the EUROPA PRESS special envoy, Eduardo Blanco) -

The president of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has addressed the Frankfurt Book Fair in a recorded message, in which he has urged the sector to support his country in the war with Russia, which "imports death and spreads it throughout everywhere".

Dressed in his usual khaki shirt, Zelensky has included Iran in his message on this occasion. "Two countries that regularly attend this fair are absent today: Iran and Russia. They are less and less present in the field of culture and more and more present where everything is destroyed," he lamented.

Thus, he reiterated that Russia's action is not "only against the Ukrainian people", asking those present to think about whether they could be the next to be affected "by the bombs". "Do you think you are safe from explosions? From killer drones? It's not a rhetorical question," she said.

"Russia has done enough to show that it has no limits, so I ask you to please do everything in your power to let people know that this terror exists," said the Ukrainian leader, whose speech has lasted more than five minutes.

Zelensky has insisted on "not silencing" Russia's war actions, because "it could take its injustices and terror to other areas." "Not everyone admits the obvious and there are still many public figures in Europe who encourage understanding Russia and ignoring its terrorist policies," he said.

The Ukrainian leader pointed out the importance of Europe "being united these days by battle", while thanking the Book Fair for giving him this space. "Thank you for this attention that shows that you value freedom and are willing to defend it," he concluded.
