Zelenski accuses Russia of delaying the shipment of ships loaded with grain and inciting the food crisis

MADRID, 21 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has accused Russia of delaying the shipment of grain-laden ships and of deliberately inciting the food crisis, thus causing increased social and political tension in various countries that depend on Ukraine for their foods.

"The right to food and to life without hunger are fundamental rights for absolutely every person on the planet. And that is why the Russian attempts to exacerbate the food crisis are also an aggression against every person on earth," he said, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Presidency.

Zelenski has specified that the grain export situation is becoming "more tense" with each passing day, since Moscow is doing "everything" possible to slow down the process, actions with which "Russia is deliberately inciting the food crisis".

"More than 150 ships are queuing to fulfill their contractual obligations for the supply of our agricultural products. This is an artificial queue that has arisen only because Russia is deliberately delaying the passage of ships," he reiterated.

"These are just some of the states to which food exports are delayed due to Russia: Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Iraq, China, Bangladesh, Indonesia. Our partners - the UN, Turkey and others are fully informed about this situation," he added.
