The Prosecutor's Office of Peru investigates the prime minister for an alleged crime of corruption

The investigation also includes the Minister of Labor, appointed by Otárola himself

MADRID, 15 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Peruvian Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation on Tuesday against the Peruvian Prime Minister, Alberto Otárola, and the Minister of Labor, Alfondo Adrianzén, as the alleged instigator and perpetrator, respectively, of a crime of taxed collusion.

The Public Ministry has announced the opening of the file after the suspicion that Otárola and Adrianzén hired Carola Rodríguez --former sister-in-law of the Minister of Labor-- as an adviser to the ministry with a monthly salary of 15,500 soles (3,600 euros), as revealed by the weekly 'Hildebrandt in his Thirteen'.

The Prime Minister of Peru appointed Adrianzén as his Secretary General, until he appointed him in charge of the Ministry of Labor after the resignation of former Minister Eduardo García, who submitted his resignation in protest against the deaths registered during the national social mobilizations against the government. by Dina Boluarte.

After the opening of the investigation, Otárola has denied that he has intervened in any designation within the Ministry of Labor and has denied having had recent communication with Carola Rodríguez, as reported by the RPP radio station.

"In relation to the complaint, I make it clear that I have not intervened in this designation. I have not had contact with Carola Rodríguez for several years, who is otherwise an outstanding professional," he indicated in a message on his social networks.

For his part, Minister Adriánzen has assured that the hiring of his adviser "has already been explained", but that he has no problem responding to the Prosecutor's Office.

"On Sunday we explained how the hiring of my adviser took place. If the Prosecutor's Office considers it relevant to clarify it further, I will do so. I did not receive any indication or recommendation from the prime minister to appoint her," he said in a statement collected by the aforementioned station.
