The Prime Ministers of Poland and Lithuania stress from kyiv their support for Ukraine's accession to NATO

The Prime Ministers of Poland and Lithuania, Mateusz Morawiecki and Ingrida Simonyte, have signed a joint declaration in kyiv with their Ukrainian counterpart, Denis Shmigal, in which they stress their support for the accession of the Eastern European country to the Atlantic Alliance.

Morawiecki and Simonyte's visit occurs within the framework of the so-called Lublin Triangle, an alliance formed by the three countries and whose main objective is to guarantee the security of Ukraine and the region in general.

The joint declaration of the heads of the Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian governments includes intensifying within NATO the discussion on Ukraine's accession to the organization with a view to the next summit of the allies, scheduled for mid-July next year in the capital of Lithuania, Vilnius.

Likewise, Morawiecki, Simonyte and Shmigal have stressed the importance of strengthening military, financial and humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the context of the Russian invasion, launched at the end of February by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

As with NATO, the three leaders have emphasized their commitment to facilitating the start of talks in the European Union on Ukraine's entry into the bloc, according to the Ukrinform news agency.
