The newly proclaimed Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, held telephone conversations on Tuesday with the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and with the Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelenski, with whom he reaffirmed his country's support for Ukraine.

Specifically, the US president congratulated Sunak on his appointment and described the United Kingdom as the "closest ally of the United States", which is why he urged his British counterpart to continue working together.

The leaders have discussed how to extend the cooperation of both countries, specifically in countries such as Ukraine, where the United Kingdom and the United States are reportedly leading the support for the Ukrainian people, as well as ensuring that Russian President Vladimir Putin loses in the war. .

They have also stressed the importance of maintaining their joint work in regions such as the Indo-Pacific, where their trilateral pact with Australia operates, as well as countering the "evil" influence of China.

However, Sunak and Biden have agreed on the need to guarantee the population of Northern Ireland security and prosperity by maintaining the Good Friday Agreement.

Both leaders hope to meet in person at the next G20 summit in Indonesia, which will be held on October 30 and 31.

Likewise, Rishi Sunak spoke on Tuesday afternoon with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodimir Zelenski, to whom he reaffirmed British support for his country.

The 'premier' has declared that the United Kingdom's support for Ukraine will be "firmer than ever" under his mandate, assuring Zelensky that he can count on the permanent solidarity of his government.
